Hello my friends,

In 2011 British Columbia and many other States and Provinces in North America and around the world have made it illegal to drive and speak on a hand held cell phone. This makes sense due to the distraction driving and speaking on a phone  or driving and texting causes.

Here are a few websites on the topic:

I don’t disagree with these articles or the moves made by the police and law makers to keep the roads safer by forcing drivers to drive not talk and drive. It does however concern me when I look at all the  other technology in cars today and wonder how distracting this may be.

Here are a few examples in modern cars:

Looking at the modern dash design’s in these current model, I am not sure if the cell phone is such a threat. I just thought that someone should make the obvious point that cell phones are only one of the several daily distractions that we experience when driving.

It is never a good idead to eat, smoke, apply mascara, drink or text message when driving. In addition cell phone calls, fiddling with a CD or your ipod or iPhone are also not great ideas.

Drive safe, pay attention, and try your best to focus on the tast at hand, Driving your vehicle.

I hope you found this article helpful and I would love your feedback.
